The Lottery Results are in!

Late last summer I decided that after many years off the bike, I'd get back on. Somewhere between that fateful day and March-ish 2008 I decided it would be fun to do RAGBRAI again after a 13+ year break.

A short conversation convincing my brother to join me, a frustrating 30m getting the "team" together on the ragbrai registration site and a few weeks later the lottery results are in and we got tickets!

Now, let the training begin.....

Today was the last day of the American Assocation of Museums annual meeting here in Denver. It was my first AAM and I enjoyed it a lot. I saw many great sessions, and a couple of duds. I ran into so many former DMNS'ers and other museum folk. It was also nice to be out of the office for a few days even if it meant my evenings were spent catching up.

I met a couple friends for lunch and after sitting on a downtown patio in 75 degree weather I just couldn't stand the thought of spending the whole afternoon in the convention center. So after a last run through the expo I made a very deliberate decision to play hookie and go for a ride.

It was a short ride - 32 km (my damn computer is stuck on kilometers) - but 3/4 of that was into a driving wind so I got a helluva workout. I've had a bit of a hitch in my workout giddiup lately....I hope having a defined goal will help me get my motivation back!
